Meet Angie
Angela Macleod, known as Angie, is the founder & Chief Instructor of The Kiln Equestrian Centre, which was founded in 1989, and she is a highly respected equestrian professional. Angie brings extensive competing experience across disciplines, with a particular strength in cross country and horse production. She is a BHS Intermediate Teacher, recognised worldwide for excellence, and is known for her high standards, clear coaching, and deep understanding of horses.
Angie learned from the very best in the world, training with Olympic and world class riders including Pammy Hutton FBHS and her mother, the late Molly Sivewright FBHS, as well as the late Ernest Scattergood of the British Army Royal Mounted RMP. Ernest Scattergood was a master horseman who looked after the Queen Mother in ceremonial duties and is recognised in British Army history. Alongside this elite mentorship, Angie was also trained by Sir Mark Todd, the New Zealand Olympic event rider who won Badminton multiple times and Olympic gold medals at the Los Angeles and Seoul Games, and by Gerry Sinnott, the Irish Olympic event rider, at The Talland School of Equitation. With years of hands on experience running a busy professional yard, Angie has built a reputation for exceptional horse care, correct training, and no nonsense horsemanship. Her teaching develops confident, capable riders, a good seat, and a light hand, while always putting the welfare and long term soundness of the horse first. Angie’s approach is direct, knowledgeable, and grounded in experience, creating an environment where horses and riders genuinely progress.
